The Difference Between
Peel Out (Integrated) and Peel Off (piggy-back or blown-on)
Peel Out Cards and Labels
Integrated or peel out cards have experienced phenomenal acceptance in the marketplace. It’s a recent innovation that combines the printing of label or card and form. A laminating film is spot laminated on the back and then the card is die-cut from the front. The resulting card can be peeled out leaving no adhesive residue. Since the card does not sit on top it stacks and feeds better through laser printers. An integrated approach reduces print costs because your message content prints at the same time as your card or label. Optional top laminates can be applied to increase thickness and durability. Some substrates are even compatible with color laser printers. Gold and silver foil label substrates are laser compatible.
Peel Off Cards and Labels
Peel off cards or labels are tipped-on or ride piggy-back on a carrier sheet. They can be made of any printable substrate from plastics/synthetics to paper/card stocks. Card thicknesses usually vary from 8 pt to credit card thickness. There’s a larger range of substrates for both peel off cards and labels. It’s your best category when you need to consider durability and unique application. Certain cards are laser or inkjet printable. Handwritten image transferring labels (similar to NCR technology) can eliminate duplication of effort by the transfer of written information onto the form it was attached to. The label once peeled off can be used for another purpose such as shipping or be attached to another business form.
